New allegations in Rob Baltovich case

He remains guilty until proven innocent.
Despite his acquittal, Rob Baltovich is still duelling with shadows as he struggles to clear his name in the mysterious murder of Elizabeth Bain 24 years ago.
The Scarborough librarian spent nine years in prison and another eight on bail. But the Ontario government has never agreed that Baltovich was wrongly convicted of killing his girlfriend in 1992 and has steadfastly refused to compensate him — even after he won an appeal and was acquitted in 2008 when the Crown chose not to present any evidence against him at his second trial.
Baltovich, 48, now claims the fix was in from the start. In a proposed amendment to his $13-million lawsuit, he alleges he has uncovered new, intentionally-mislabelled evidence that demonstrates a long-standing cover-up by Toronto Police and the Crown to suppress a key interview with forensic experts that completely undermined the case against him.
