"Cleansing?" Nice euphemism. Etymologically, "religicide" can only mean killing a religion, which is certainly a motive in some mass murders, but it doesn't cover them all. There's already a perfectly good word for what you're talking about. It's genocide.
LOL! Some good ones tonight!!

That's what I always say. But according to that genius who started this thread that makes us a couple of commie-pinko-degenerate-liberal-America/Canada haters who seek to undermine the moral fabric of society. And worse still, this, according to him, makes us Democrats!
~~ Nice euphemism ~~
Especially when applied to others while ignoring the ignoble sins that take place at home.
Yes Genocide does fit the bill - But when it is perpetrated on a small scale as it is in many countries, over an extended period of time, decades - The world looks away - I mean the West in particular - The selection by an Iranian Police official to bring charges against a small number of Bahia with the resulting tortured confession, show trials, long prison term or execution would not meet the broad standards that are defined by Genocide. yet the practice of terrorizing Bahia - Heretics according to the Shia faith and Govt - If you can as is happening in the Mid East in particular, convince many to emigrate over decades, by the use of what I have described in the thread topic, I do not believe it would meet the standards of Genocide - It would be impossible to prove in a Court of Law -
Goober man you have got to get over the Muslim obsession. Sure there are some pretty nasty elements within the Islamic world, but think of it as the natural backlash for Western meddling in the Middle East for past couple centuries.
The reason why people tend to "focus" on Israel and the US is because between the two of them, they have done more in the way of state atrocities within the last half-century than...wait for it...ALL OTHER STATES IN THE WORLD COMBINED. I'm not talking about some KKK running around hanging black guys or settlers blowing away Palestinian peasants here, I'm talking about what, according to international law are quite clearly war crimes. And considering the massive civilian death tolls involved, I'd say there' s something to be said for claims of human rights violations.
The fact that people here look to the faults of fanatics in the mostly ruined Islamic world, while their own governments continue to engage in illegal and murderous wars there is a testament to the general population's state of denial.
