Re: Time For Don Cherry To Give Up The Pro-War TalkJan 31st, 2011
Cherry is on TV, that means many people take him very seriously. Hundreds of thousands of people watch him every week. Getting on TV is quite hard, most of us will never get on TV to talk about anything except a local fire/theft/crime, and then for about five seconds.
Getting on TV, the mass media, is no small feat and very few people get to do it on a regular basis. Cherry's been doing it for quite a while which I would guess he likes it and wants to keep his job. People debate Cherry's ideas, they don't debate most people's ideas. Cherry has influence in Canada and I want to restrict it to hockey.
heard all over canada, probably from your next door neighbours radio even when you don't have yours on, that
is how loud he is on 'that' show.
there are so many people who should be voted best canadian who wouldn't be given the time of day, because
their voice has not been heard by enough people, yes TV goes a long way, and suck in a lot of people.
