Besides, the women aren't even accusing Assange of rape. Both were seen after the alleged events enjoying Assange's company. It was only after they realized that they both had sex Assange that they became angry and complained to authorities.
Assange never fled the country. After a short investigation, and an interrogation, he was released without charges. He moved on to his next event, which was not in Sweden. Assange was charged a few months later, immediately after he started leaking docs.
Anyone who can't smell a rat here, must have no sense of smell.
Assange is guilty of being a cad, a jerk and even an *******, but rape for consensual sex? I don't think so.
Think of the precedent if this charge sticks. Anyone who lies to get sex or screws around on their partner and pisses them off, could be similarly charged.
