Of course, they blamed Bush. They do to this very day, while giving total free pass to the local governments, whose job it was to ask for Federal help..
You are talking rubbish, YJ. Nobody blamed Bush for causing Katrina. Show me even one web reference where anybody blamed Bush for causing Katrina.
In this respect, ti is interesting to note that the former chief of FEMA (evidently he was fired by Bush for his inept handling of Katrina) made just such an accusation on FOX. He claimed that Obama caused the oil spill and Obama wants it to spread as widely as possible, cause as much damage as possible, so that he could then ban offshore drilling.
CNN held his feet to the fire, asked him what evidence he had that Obama has caused the oil spill, and that he wants it to spread as widely as possible. The poor fellow of course, could not produce any evidence.
But while some Republicans have blamed Obama for causing the oil spill, nobody blamed Bush for Katrina.
They and you, SirJosephPorter are in the habit of forgetting that the Federal Government is not required to do a damn thing, unless the governor of the state asks for assistance. The silly bitch of a Democratic Governor (forgot her name) and the Democratic "chocolate city" mayor get absolutely no blame from you and your ilk.
You also give a total free pass to the racist mayor of New Orleans, who let hundreds of school busses sit idle, rather than use them for evacuation, while people died.
Again, it is not only the liberals or the Democrats who blamed Bush for his inept handling of the aftermath of Katrina. Opinion polls show that a great majority of Americans blamed him. Only Bush acolytes thought that he had done a superb job.
