First off, let me make unequivocally clear that if these allegations prove to be true, then that is absolutely unacceptable conduct on the part of members of the United States Army
. However, let me be equally as clear that when women and men are serving a nation abroad, the stress and pressure that they must feel to succeed for the very future of their homes (whether or not this is true is not up for debate, but rather, whether they believe it is true) would be tremendous. Mistakes are going to be made — I feel that we must lend at least some leniency on the human side of things for these servicewomen and servicemen.
Then being said, proven allegations should be actioned. This does not mean charges of war crimes, or other such radical steps as the Loony Left would suggest but, rather, discipline within the guidelines and regulations of the United States Army administration. For tremendously grievous acts, the buck would stop not with the servicewomen and servicemen serving abroad, but with The Honorable Robert Gates
, the Secretary of Defense
and, on a broader scale, His Excellency the Honorable Barack Obama
, President of the United States of America
. The present United States Cabinet
is responsible for oversight of the armed forces, and the results thereof; personal attacks against the character and integrity of serivewomen and servicemen are unwarranted and, in my view, of poor taste.
