A powerful documentary about the Holocaust produced by Carlsbad High students is featured during this year's Jewish Film Festival, underway in San Diego.
The 28-minute documentary called "We Must Remember" is the result of the students' trip to Europe, that included time at
Auschwitz concentration camp outside of Krakow, Poland. Students also encountered a Nazi party rally during their trip, which they said was eye-opening.
They're part of an elective broadcast journalism class, and interviewed Holocaust survivors. Their teacher got the idea after a trip to Germany.
San Diego Jewish Film Festival founder Joyce Axelrod said she knew she had to include the work in the festival before she even watched the entire documentary.
The students also hope to distribute the film to every middle and high school in California, to support text books and other curriculum.
The documentary is showing at 7:30pm on Monday, February 9th at the AMC La Jolla theater.
