CALGARY -- A man from Sunset House, Alta., is to appear in court Thursday after the driver of an off-highway vehicle says he was doused with gasoline and threatened with being lit on fire.
RCMP say the victim was operating a quad and searching for missing horses about 8 p.m. Saturday near Sunset House, east of Grande Prairie, when the incident occurred.
The suspect drove his truck into the ditch, hitting the off-highway vehicle, then took a gasoline can from his truck and sprayed the victim several times, the RCMP spokesman said. The victim escaped before the driver could carry out his threat.
RCMP have charged 31-year-old Roland John with attempted aggravated assault, dangerous operation of a vehicle, uttering threats and possession of a dangerous weapon, along with an earlier charge of driving while impaired
