Supermarket guards called police after the child was seen placing the barrel of the gun into her mouth on security cameras.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Merseyside Police received a report from security at Asda claiming they had spotted youths playing with a weapon outside shops on Breck Road.

"Officers attended the scene immediately, located the youths and established that the guns were in fact toy guns, which had been recently purchased at a local shop.

"Officers therefore confiscated the items and gave advice regarding public concerns over firearms at this time."

Police said the yobs appeared to know the child and her mother.

The spokeswoman added: "Merseyside Police would like to remind members of the public that at a time of heightened concern the use of toy guns in public could result in calls from concerned onlookers, resulting in a response by armed officers."
Well...that seems like a dumb idea on those guysis part.
You better believe it. I don't know what is wrong, it is as if they don't have the faintest clue of what to do to amuse themselves. It is pathetic!
