Why don't we sell them all the drugs they can eat....we could make a mitt full of money.

If our supplies go low...that’s different. That becomes a national security issue.

Canadian drug prices are low becuase the government made a deal: in return for a longer patent protection time period, the federal government reviews and sets the prices for prescription drugs.

It's a trade off we made, to help encourage pharmaceutical research in Canada.

Using our low prices to put sand in the eye of the big US drug companies by selling the drugs across the border is counterproductive.

Not only that, but it's technically illegal for a doctor to prescribe drugs to a patient she/he has not seen.

RE: CA -No longer a "disc

I saw a Congressman or Senator from Minnisota last night on TV whining about this, saying its not right. Like wtf. I am glad its being curtailed, not our job to supply America with cheaper drugs. Not our problem they can not stand up to drug makers to keep prices down.

The pharmacutical drug lobbyists are to powerful in Washington, for their to be change.

If we sell them drugs we would be cheaper and it would help move their prices down...

Kinda like allowing Toyota to sell North America cars...no?

it is more than just the profit factor or even politics. It is ,as someone mentioned , illegal to prescribe drugs for people that have not been seen by a CA physician.

Can you imagine what would happen if someone self prescribed / ordered drugs at CA discount drug store and developed serious health problems???? or gosh forbid died.

CA does not need to leave itself open to more bashing from the US. In the US the drug companies are like drug lords and a money making industry.......whereas in CA pharmaceutical industry is still about hi standards and the HEALTH of a population.

"US lawmakers are debating laws that could authorise the bulk purchase of medicines from Canada. "

Bulk sales don't mean self prescription....

And if Canadian pharmacies are giving drugs out to individual patience without prescriptions, they will need to have their licenses revoked. Also we don't need a Canadian doctor to see the patient; an American doctor is just as good.

These idea's will help lower drug prices in America...good idea.

Lower drug prices in America means less R&D...bad idea.

But the doctor has to have a license in the Province where the prescription is filled.
