Rolling Stones to perform in Moncton, official says

Moncton -- The Rolling Stones will be heading to New Brunswick this summer.

Ian Fowler, director of community service for the City of Moncton, said the Stones will headline a large outdoor concert there in September.

"We're on the verge of making history with the largest concert event ever in Atlantic Canada," he told The Moncton Times and Transcript on Thursday.

The exact date and ticket prices won't be announced until Tuesday, but Mr. Fowler said promoters DKD Events and The Next Adventure say the Stones will perform at a 140-hectare site at Magnetic Hill, where the late Pope John Paul II held a mass in 1984

It sounds great! I may do that. The chance to see them (outdoors at that), and some freinds in Moncton may be enough to convince me. I'm poor though, will depend on ticket prices. I'm happy for Moncton nonetheless, that will draw a crowd from all over! You''d think I lived there I'm so excited.

hey, that should be reason enough to go! kids were at the u2 concert where there were lots of rockers - they had them penned into an area so they wouldn't get crushed! mind you, these fans were around 70-80!~

I saw them a few years ago (Steel Wheels tour) and I've seen clips of their concerts since and talked to people who have seen them lately. It's still a hell of a show, by all accounts.

You should go, missile. You are never too old for a Rolling Stones concert.

Very true.

As well the Rolling Stones themselves will never be too old to put on a show either.
