A Polk County girl died on Dec. 30 after she was found by emergency officials with self-inflicted wounds outside her home and police are investigating reports she live streamed the act.
According to Polk County Coroner Tony Brazier, Katelyn Nichole Davis, 12, of a Silver Creek address in Polk County, was pronounced dead at Polk Medical Center's Emergency Room after officials tried to save her after she was first found around 6 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2016.
He said her body had been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Crime Lab for an autopsy.
Det. Kristen Hearn said the Polk County Police Department is obtaining search warrants for Davis's phone, Facebook account and a third social media site after unconfirmed rumors were reported the incident was recorded by the phone on a live streaming website.
She said she will seek the warrants on Tuesday to be able to get into the phone and confirm if the rumors are true.
Hearn said the investigation remains open and further details would be forthcoming.
Davis was a Cedartown Middle School student according to Polk School District Superintendent Darrell Wetherington

I read all of the diary, sad stuff. It wasn't very long, just a few entries over about a week, the last one being on the eve on Dec 27th, 3 days before her death.
She talked about being dumped by her boyfriend who she still loves dearly and is trying to find him, she even reaches out to anyone who reads her blog for any information on his whereabouts. Random.
She also talks about her illness, medication, cutting herself - wants to know if there's a safer way to release pain but is equal to the satisfaction of cutting yourself. Fukk.
She talks about her home life, how poor her family is, how wrecked her home is, constant leaks, mould, dampness and how she sleeps on a mattress.
Then finally, she talks about her a$$hole stepdad who i don't think lived with them, but every time he came over, gave her and her siblings a bad time - tried to rape her, and touched her and her siblings, doesn't want to tell her mom, she hates her.
She talks about how she hates this time of year (Christmas) because that's when she usually sees the step dad, oh, the stepdad also told her to "stop being a whiny little bitch and go kill yourself" when she complained about the abuse and threatened to tell her mom.
