I think you're right! He's smarter than the average person and that's why the average person doesn't understand him.
I know a couple of other people like that. (I'm not one of them ). They have high IQs and their minds run so far ahead that most of us don't catch their meaning right away. Unfortunately their minds work faster than their mouths so what they say often sounds garbled to us.
I hope you understand what I mean.
When they talk their minds are running off in all different directions which they can keep track of but to us it sounds like rambling.
When Trump slows down by using a TelePrompter he makes perfect sense.
