‘I will cut your throat’; Man allegedly threatened Muslim cop, son

A 36-year-old New York man was arrested after allegedly threatening to slice the throat of an off-duty female Muslim cop.
The suspect, Christopher Nelson, was arrested during the weekend on charges of menacing as a hate crime and aggravated harassment in Brooklyn after allegedly verbally attacking NYPD officer Aml Elsokary, who wears a hijab.
“Go back to your country,” Nelson allegedly yelled at Elsokary, according to the New York Post. “I will cut your throat!”
The 16-year-old son of Elsokary was shoved during the incident, while a slur that referenced ISIS was also directed at them.
Elsokary, a mother of five, was hailed as a hero in 2014 after saving an elderly man and a baby girl from a burning building. She received a medal and was commended for bravery.
