Selfish, thoughtless, egocentric *******s is what they are and Locthe is the worst of them as he ran. He got out of Rio as fast as he could and left his compatriots to face the music.

My heart goes out to the other members of the US team who have done their country proud.

Does anyone know why they told anyone anything, let alone make up that story.

I just don't get why they/he felt compelled to tell a story, when no story would've worked just fine and probably not have made the news.

I find this type of entitlement foul, this is a 32 years old man, so we can take away the idea that it was a prank. They were up to no good, and Lochte tried to hide it to his mama, by lying and humiliated Brazil to the rest of the world.

I saw the video. They were directed out of the taxi by someone who probably had a gun and pressured them into making a cash settlement. Looks like it could be armed robbery to me.

What a dumb thing to do, he ruined his life and the life of his fellow swimmers. Shame.

If someone is pointing a gun at me I might give them a tip so I don't get shot.

I think the 'someone with a gun' was the security guard at the gas station where they had just destroyed a bathroom.

Someone with a gun who is cutting a deal for money. They have been *******s but they still got robbed.

No, they weren't robbed. They had to pay for the damage they caused.

this story is a mess, and I'm certainly not coming to any conclusions either way, and we will

probably never know the exact truth, but blaming the players 100% is too easy, i'll leave that

for the American haters, too many grey areas, too many other possibilities, I'm just leaving it

where it lays, no answer to this for me, seems both sides could be guilty of 'something', I don't

assume things.
