Woman charged after leaving toddler inside hot car while she auditioned at strip club

NASHVILLE — A woman and her friend are facing charges after they left her infant in a hot car outside a strip club where she was auditioning.

WSB-TV reports 24-year-old Kelsey McMurtry was auditioning at club in downtown Nashville Thursday while her daughter sat in a locked car with the windows up. A passerby saw her and called police.

According to a warrant, it was 72 degrees outside when officers arrived and temperatures inside the car had reached 100 degrees. Witnesses estimated the baby was in the car 30 minutes.

She was treated at a hospital and placed with children’s services.

McMurtry’s friend, 19-year-old Summer Taylor, told police she was watching the child but witnesses disputed that.

McMurtry and Taylor both face child neglect charges.

The girl was a 24-year-old single mother in Nashville applying to be a stripper. Can we agree that it's fairly likely that she didn't give up a scholarship to MIT? A reasonably nice body and a willingness to bare it for cash appear to be her only contributions to society.

And can we not assume that the sperm donor was probably not a brain surgeon from Baylor? Ergo, little Cletus Jr., between nature and nurture, ain't really likely to discover the cure for cancer or faster than light travel.

So now the state's gonna spend more on prosecuting the sperm Dumpster than they ever will on educating or caring for the kid.

Yeah, that investment'll pay off big.
