but wait, there's more

A 51-year-old Bucks County man was arrested after he was found living with 12 girls, including a teenager he considered his wife, and a baby and a toddler he fathered with her, authorities said Friday.

Lee Kaplan was arrested Thursday morning at his home on the 400 block of Old Street Road in Lower Southampton after an anonymous tip led county child welfare workers and police to his door, Lower Southampton police Lt. John Krimmel said.

Some of the children were hiding in the small house.
"We kept finding more children," Krimmel said. "It's just a crazy situation."
The oldest girl, now 18, told police she was the mother of two of the girls, a 3-year-old and a 6-month-old, Krimmel said.

The teen's parents, Daniel and Savilla Stoltzfus, of Quarryville, Lancaster County, also were arrested after they told police they had "gifted" their daughter to Kaplan four years ago.

The girl was 14 at the time, and Daniel Stoltzfus gave her to Kaplan as thanks "for helping his family out of financial ruin," according to the criminal complaints.

The Stoltzfuses said they were the parents of all of the children except the two youngest, who were their grandchildren, Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler said. Officials on Friday still were trying to determine how the other nine children came to be living with Kaplan, and whether he had abused any of them.

"We've got a ways to go to figure out what's really going on here," Heckler said.

Heckler described the Stoltzfuses as "straightforward."

They told police they were going to lose their farm until Kaplan "comes along and gives them money somehow," possibly employing Daniel Stoltzfus in a scrap business.

Pretty typical of what are referred to as "Low Germans". Hell, even during the days of slavery in the US, German Reformationists that migrated to America would immediately sell their children into slavery.
As far as I'm concerned, every adult involved in this should be shot and their organs harvested so that they might save or improve the lives of others despite being the complete waste of a life they are.

Thank Gawd He Wasn't Muslim. . .

Cuz that would be bad.

Go home, folks. Nothing to see here.

For years, Jen Betz said, she had been telling her husband that something was off.
She was worried about the girls she saw at a nearby Feasterville, Pa., home, the Associated Press reported.

“They’re so sad and fearful every time I see them,” Betz told the wire service.

So last week, Betz said, she made a call. “Something needed to be done,” Betz told the Philadelphia Inquirer, which also reported that Betz had discovered a baby was at the property.

Now Betz’s 51-year-old neighbor, Lee Kaplan, faces charges that include statutory sexual assault, AP reported. In his home, authorities found several girls, one of whom was allegedly given to him a few years ago.

Kaplan admitted to fathering two children with that teenage girl, whose family gave her to him, a criminal compliant notes. The girl’s father told investigators that his daughter was “gifted” to Kaplan “in thanks for helping his family out of financial ruin,” the documents state.

The complaint says that the girl’s father told investigators he and his wife gave their daughter to Kaplan after researching whether it was legal online, and that the teen first became pregnant at age 14. The girl’s parents were also taken into custody, the Inquirer reported.

According to the Inquirer:
In Kaplan’s basement, Lower Southampton police, Pennsylvania state police, and Bucks County district attorney’s investigators found evidence that some of the girls were living there. They had been sleeping on air mattresses amid an elaborate and expensive model train setup, a tank where catfish were being raised, and a greenhouse where avocado trees were being grown.

There were also signs they were being homeschooled; several violins and musical instruments suggested they also had music lessons.
“They were living in the basement; they were hiding in the chicken coop,” Robert Hoopes, Lower Southampton’s director of public safety, told USA Today
.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the other girls found at the property had been victims of sexual abuse, the Inquirer noted.
The newspaper reported that Kaplan had been spotted with the girls and had occasionally visited local businesses with them. Neighbors had contacted authorities, but those calls didn’t result in property searches.

AP reported that authorities visited Kaplan’s house after receiving a tip, and the Inquirer said they took action after Betz’s call.

UPI reports that12 girls were discovered at Kaplan’s Pennsylvania home, including the now 18-year-old and her two daughters. The Associated Press reports that some of the children were expected to be interviewed Monday, as authorities try to figure out who was supposed to be caring for them.

Think you'll hear our local right-wingers calling for Betz and everybody of his race/religion to be deported?

Nah, you won't hear anything from them at all.

Think you'll hear our local right-wingers calling for Betz and everybody of his race/religion to be deported?

Nah, you won't hear anything from them at all.
How do you deport naturally born citizens? That might be why you won't hear anyone demanding they be deported. As for not hearing anything at all from the right, maybe that's for the best, considering when some recent bigwig Republican in govt was nailed for being a diddler, the right-wingers got a little campaign going for him asking for the system to be lenient with him. At that point, I'd rather the rightwing nuts just keep their yaps shut.

I find the whole thing with religion and political ideology to be utterly stupid anyway. Muslim diddles a child and on one hand you have the righties going off the deep end while the lefties desperately try to ignore it lest their narrative be exposed for what it is. You'll even get some who will go so far as to call you a bigot or a racist if you mention Islam as being part of the root cause. But when a Christian diddles a child, the lefties go off the deep end with some citing religion as being the root cause, while the rightwing nuts suddenly find forgiveness.
This is why I argue vehemently when people accuse me of being a racist. I hate ALL humans equally, except those individuals who have demonstrated they're not some greedy, selfish, self-centered, self-serving slug and who are capable of more than just parroting their idiotic ideology.

Well, first you elect Trump. . .

That might be why you won't hear anyone demanding they be deported.
Or rather, why YOU won't hear anyone demanding yadda yadda yadda.

But they won't. They'll bark all day and all night. Only time they'll shut up is when the shooter/child molester/bigot/whatever is a Real American or an Old Stock Canadian.

The mother of six girls a Pennsylvania man is accused of having assaulted, fathering two children by one, says she knew about the sexual activity but believed it "could be a good thing."

Police say the girls' father told them he and his wife "gifted" one of their daughters to Kaplan after he financially helped the couple.

Testifying Wednesday, the girls' 43-year-old mother said that she and her family viewed Kaplan as a prophet.

When the family fell on hard times financially and were evicted from their Kirkwood home in 2009, the two older girls were sent to live with Kaplan. The mother said the couple had promised Kaplan that their second-oldest daughter, then 9, would be his wife when she was older. But the mother said she understood they wouldn't have sex until the girl was 18.

According to Lancaster Online, the mother testified she was "a little shaken" when she found out in 2013 her oldest daughter, 14 at the time, was pregnant with Kaplan's child. She said she didn't know the two were in a relationship or that the daughter was pregnant until she was about to give birth. But she reportedly said she saw her daughter loved Kaplan and was well, and eventually she "accepted it as the way it is".

"As we all well know and understand, we're familiar with [Kaplan] and his ways, and we understand that he's always motivated to follow the leading of God," the mother reportedly testified.

Kaplan eventually made it clear he would take all six of the oldest girls as "wives," though the parents never specifically agreed to it, the mother testified, according to Philly.com. The mother said she too eventually moved in with Kaplan as one of his wives.

Kaplan reportedly believed his relationships with the six sisters were dictated by God through dreams. The mother testified when she saw Kaplan taking her daughters to bed, she believed he was teaching them how to live in the outside world and that it was meant to be.

"I always trusted him that whatever goes on is a good thing," the mother said.

She at times became jealous of her daughters, writing to her husband that Kaplan was forcing her to compete with them for his affection.

Deputy District Attorney Kate Kohler argued that Kaplan "brainwashed" the family seeking "power, manipulation and control."
"Six children became his victims. Six children became his sex toys," Kohler said Wednesday.

The girls' mother said she had no regrets because "we had a good life."
