Anti Israel, anti gay groups to rally in Toronto a day before the Pride Parade
The 2016 International Al-Quds day will held on Saturday July 2, 2016 at 3:00pm in front of the US Consulate at 360 University Avenue in Toronto. After listening to speeches, the participants will march to Queen’s Park.
On the official Facebook event page the organizers stated the following:
The annual Quds Day was initiated by Iran in 1979 as an expression of solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposing Zionism and Israel’s right to exist.
Supporters of Iran and its radical Islamic Shiite regime are traditionally the main force behind this annual event in which participants wave the flags of Iran (and sometimes also flags of Hezbollah and Syria) and pictures of Ruhollah Khomeini, the former Supreme Leader of Iran and the founder of the Islamic Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to Human Rights Watch, “Iran’s sexual minorities, especially those who identify themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT), are victimized both by state and private actors in part because those actors know they can get away with it.”
Sodomy is outlawed in Iran and in certain circumstances it can be a crime for which both partners can be punished by death. The punishment for lesbianism is 50 lashes ans if the act is repeated four times the death sentence is applied. Some human rights activists and opponents of the Iranian regime claim that between 4,000 and 6,000 gay men and lesbians have been executed in Iran for crimes related to their sexual orientation since 1979.
A Canadian Islamic Shiite website, affiliated with the organizers of al-Quds Day, slammed last year Ontario Premier, Kathleen Wynne for her support of Israel, and implicitly mocked her for being a gay: “Kathleen Wynne, the Ontario premier and an apology for a woman, is an arch-Zionist.” Women who protested against al-Quds Day in Toronto wearing short clothes were called “****s” and “filth.”
One of the most extreme Jewish group in the world – Neturei Karta, a sect of extreme ultra-Orthodox Jews who actively advocate for the dismantling of the State of Israel, is a permanent fixture at al-Quds Day rally in Toronto. Last year (July 11, 2015), four Neturei Karta rabbis stood side by side with leaders of Islamic and leftist Jewish groups, condemning the “Zionist regime” and denying the right of the Jewish people to self determination.
The ultra orthodox Jewish website bhol.co.il reported that Naturei Karta posted (June 2014) leaflets in Jerusalem expressing their full support for Yishay Shlisel, who at that time was serving a 12 year sentence for committing in 2005 a knife attack in which he stabbed and injured six participants in the Jerusalem Pride Parade before being restrained and arrested by the Police. After 10 years in jail, Shlisel was set free and a month later he committed a second knife attack during Jerusalem Pride Parade (July 30, 2015), killing 16 year old Israeli teen Shira Banki and wounding 5 others.
Neturei Karta’s leaflet read among other things the following: “O our brothers, the sons of Israel! O compassionate people, sons of compassionate people! Ask abundant mercy of God and pray to God for the three hostages who are languishing in the Nazi-Zionist captivity… “Yishay the son of Chaya (Shlisel) from Kirtat Sefer, father of 4 children, who is languishing in the Zionist captivity for more than 8 years! He was kidnapped and was taken captive while he was defending the rulings of our sacred Torah and protesting against the first obscene parade in Jerusalem.
“Ask for plenty of mercy, for their release by God from the darkness to the light, from subjugation to salvation, for their rescue from the claws of the Zionist murderers, and that they will have no control, God forbid, over them, and that we will be privileged to see soon in our lifetime the abolition of the evil government from the face of the earth.”
The Pride Parade will be held in Toronto on July 3 with the attendance of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
