He says it’s cultural appreciation. She says it’s cultural appropriation.

A confrontation between three San Francisco State University students about a hairstyle was caught on camera on Monday and sparked a debate online about the extent of how far political correctness should go.

In the incident, a white, male student identified as Cory Goldstein is talking to a black, female student who asks her friend whether he has scissors, presumably to cut off Goldstein’s dreadlocks.

“You’re saying that I can’t have a hairstyle because of your culture? Why?” Goldstein asked.

The woman, who was handing out flyers for the student government body, Associated Students, Inc., responds:

I think it is awesome.

I just don't know where to begin with such amazing incidents caught on film!

He should have asked her to show her ownership rights to the style.

According to her logic, I'm not allowed to eat Indian or Sichuan. I'm appropriated my wife's language too. But she's appropriated Korean tech in her Samsung device.

I think East Indians are among the first vegans too, and Americans invented bicycles and I'm not American. There goes my Summer.

And what about that student appropriating the language of the English.

Where does it all end?

I think I might have to start carrying copyright, trademark, patent, and other papers with me wherever I go.

Dang, as a French Canadian speaking English, I'm appropriating your language, referring to those of you of English heritage of course.

Who invented the recorder? i like that instrument. Do I have to be Hebrew to play the harp?

Maybe we can turn this to our advantage. Aren't Canadian communists appropriating a German ideology?

And aren't incrementalist socialists appropriating British Fabiansism?

I like that?

Oh... but The wealth of Nations is British and so is utilitarianism. What about non-Hebrew Jews and Christians, non-Arab Muslims, non-Persian Baha'is, etc.?

I'll call myself a Nazi from now on. That way, a person's perception of me can only improve as he gets to know me.

But cultural appropriation! A courreur des bois uniform! I'll call myself a Canadian colonialist instead.
