It do indeed, I saw some pictures , very big drifts because of the open landscapes, some reported to be over the tops of barns.

I drove through a high mountain range in southern New Mexico about 7 years ago on my way to Arizona. I wanted to take a back route instead of the usual I 40 . Pretty high altitude ,,ski resort , pine trees really a beautiful place. Eventually I dropped down to Alamagordo then on to Las Cruces and the boring old I 10. New Mexico, like Arizona has desert, and high country and lot's of different terrain in between. It's a beautiful state.
