must be their sensibilities or lack thereof.

Graphic anti-abortion flyers are scheduled to make their way back to Saskatoon starting today. In the past, recipients have objected to getting the graphic pamphlets, but this time, it's letter carriers who are upset about having to deliver them.

The flyers were originally hand-distributed by members of an organization calling itself the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR).

The pamphlets made their rounds in the city in June and were meant to target Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau's pro-choice stance. The flyers were notable for their graphic images of aborted fetuses.

but um...

"To allow a public official to insert their personal beliefs into decisions about who should and who should not receive a public service would undermine the protection of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code," said Human Rights Commission manager Rebecca McLellan.

Note, the flyers are inside plain envelopes. The only way the posties would know what was in those envelopes is if they opened them. Posties are NOT allowed to open envelopes, nor are they allowed to go through the flyers that they deliver. My daughters a postie and her husband is a supervisor for Canada Post. This is straight from them.

As for the Commissioner, he is a public servant and as such, his "personal beliefs" do not matter. The law states that SSM is legal in Canada. If he doesn't want to marry same sex couples, then he quits his job as a commissioner. Simple as that.

It's the same with the posties. As long as no laws are being broken by the flyers, then they do not have the right to refuse to deliver them.

It's funny how some people can stick their f**King noses in where they don't belong. Tampering with mail carries a penalty of 14 years in the slammer- hope they get it.

I received my anti-abortion/anti constitution/pro criminal prosecution flyer solicitation from my MP,the return address was the House of Commons,
this perked my curosity, and so I decided to information audit the passage of this flyer, including who and what funded this message.
what a screw up the whole thing was,it was orchestrated,so much so my intelligent MP could not even explain to me what he was solicitating the riding for,I thought it was strange timing considering the wheat board issues were passing through some important decison making.I wondered why my riding was not solicitated by our MP regarding important issues of the management of the Wheat Board?
My information auditing journey gleaned lots of knowledge on the use of issues for distraction, including public money to manipulate constituents,it is my understanding the solicitation flyers are funded through the ten percent mail out lists
did you know each MP is responsible for designing their own solicitation flyer and is funded by public dollars, but when I requested to assess the different designs of solicitation I was not able to view them.
strange but true.

While they're at it they can stop delivering junk mail too.

Pretty much all mail. I get maybe Xmas cards and birthday cards. Certainly those can be delivered by temporary workers or high school students looking for work. We can free the letter carriers of all obligations to deliver any mail and save all the money spent on salaries and benefits.

That might be an over simplification. For one not everyone has access to a computer and two some people want the hard copies. We need mail delivery in some form and for the elderly and infirm right to the door is best. Could any high school student be trusted to deliver important documents without the proper training. Speaking solely for myself a once a week delivery to a neighbourhood box would be sufficient, but I don't get a lot of important mail except for maybe free play coupons from the local casino.

How would you prevent this? We all get mail from our M.P. every month or so which I suppose some might interpret as being manipulative. I suppose our right of freedom of speech could be construed by some as being manipulative. I guess what's "good for the goose is good for the gander".

Postmen have every right to refuse to deliver mail they find objectionable.

They just don't have a right to that and a job.
Dear Tecumsehsbones,
the term "postmen" is outdated.
why do you mind so much of our Canadian business, but minimize on your involvement with American business?
what is your interest in Canadian informaiton?

Offensive mail?this is an interesting discussion, what would be offensive mail?Possibly the solicitors may want to distribute in a different manner?

Offensive mail.

Mail that offends people.

Possibly the solicitors may want to distribute in a different manner?
If they did, one might think they would have done so.

I'm getting a sense of deja vu here.

Y'all have a real nice day now, hear?
