Juxtaposing at Kanata Estates

A few years ago the good citizens of Kanata (a suburb in Ottawa's west end), in the name of Mother Nature, successfully petitioned city and provincial governments to put a halt to a planned development so that Blanding's Turtles could have a swampy refuge.


Well, they're out petitioning again. But this time their pleas have a different twist: they're after the City of Ottawa to save them from Mother Nature ...specifically, the terrible mosquito infestation in their tony suburbs.

yeah, we used to fog mosquitoes back in the day but alas...it was bad or something. :lol:

Skeeters will bite through kevlar. It's been a mellow year here on the plains for skeeter but f-cking ticks are horrid. Thank goodness I bought a case of muskol right before it went from 95% deet to 30%.

Pretty hard to please citified folk. They want nature to remain..... well out in the remote areas. Around here they all got their knickers in a knot over urban deer. Seems they have taken a liking to flower gardens. Silly buggers ignore no trespassing signs.

Cities are safe havens from skeeters. City of Regina has a very successful and egofriendly program using nontoxic methods.
