A man has been decapitated after an attacker brandishing an Islamist flag raided a French factory in Grenoble, according to reports.




There are also reports of a loud explosion at the factory and several other victims.

The decapitated head had Arabic writing scrawled across it and was found on a fence next to an Islamist flag, a French legal source said.




Henry Samuel, a correspondent fro the Daily Telegraph, told Sky News: "The person arrested was allegedly carrying a flag of the Islamic State and he said he was a member of the IS.


"There are several people wounded."


Benedicte Paviot, a French commentator, said: "It seems we may be dealing with a terrorist attack, that is not at all confirmed yet by the French authorities."


The attack came nearly six months after the Islamist attacks in and around Paris that killed 17 people in January.

At least 27 people have been killed, including foreigners, in an attack on a beach near two tourist hotels in the Tunisian resort town of Sousse, according to the interior ministry.

Officials say one gunman has been shot dead and another is being pursued.

Sousse is a popular tourist destination.

Tunisia has been on high alert since March when militants killed 22 people, mainly foreign tourists, in an attack on a museum in the capital Tunis.

The interior ministry told the BBC "a terrorist attack" was ongoing.

Another British tourist close to the scene of a deadly attack on a Tunisian beach resort has described his experiences.

Gary Pine said he was on the beach and heard what "we thought was firecrackers going off" 100 yards away, followed by an explosion from the next hotel complex along.

"There was a mass exodus off the beach," he said. He said his son said he had seen someone get shot on the beach.

He said guests at his hotel were first told to lock themselves in their rooms, and later to gather in the lobby.

Tunisia is popular with British tourists. The Foreign Office says 424,707 British nationals visited Tunisia in 2014.
