Topeka area man arrested for bomb plot at Fort Riley
A 20-year-old Topeka area man was arrested Friday morning as he made the final preparations to blow up a bomb at Fort Riley, the U.S. Attorney for Kansas said.
The man allegedly planned an ISIS-inspired terror threat at the military base near Manhattan, KS. The public was never in danger and this was a sting, much like how a Kansas man was arrested for plotting to plant a bomb at the Wichita airport.
John T. Booker Jr., who goes by the name Mohammed Abdullah Hassan, was charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, attempting to destroy via a bomb a federal building and attempting to provide "material support" to the Islamic State of Iraq.
