NSA building damaged by multiple gunshots

Multiple gunshots struck a National Security Agency office building in Forte Meade, Maryland, where the department’s headquarters are located, according to local law enforcement officials.

No injuries have been reported at the scene, though the NSA told NBC Washington that one of its buildings was damaged by several gunshots. Law enforcement officials are investigating the situation, though US Park Police say they don’t know who may have fired the shots.

Police are also looking into reports of several gunshots being fired along the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and Route 32, which is located near the NSA. No injuries have been reported from that incident, and officials are trying to determine if the two events are related.

About two hours before the incident near the NSA was came to light, gunshots were also reported at the Maryland Intercounty Connector, about 12 miles away from the NSA campus. Two people suffered minor injuries during this shooting, though they have been hospitalized and did not actually suffer from gunshot wounds.

If the holes were made from the inside perhaps that is ground zero for the new civil war, . . . or we just got new bosses.

Like immigration bypassing the Senate and Congress.???????

Yup. The US has passed from its era as a republic to a post-constitutional phase. The precedents set by Obama will be used by future presidents as justification for use of the same methods.

It doesn't matter whether Obama shares the fate of Julius Ceasar. The processes of history are like the force of gravity. It's all downhill from here.

100 years from now the history books might make the being black part as a reason for whites to rule even though they are a serious minority. We were already at the bottom of the hill, this is the hidden cliff part.

A century from now there will probably be no living memory of the United States.

No loving memory??

10 years then, 400M people in NA are not going to vanish or kill each other. Think of this as the Indians getting the country back, now what??

Cities could supply almost all their own green food by turning parks and lawns into (mandatory) gardens. Long term plans require accurate forecasts and those aren't around today so. I'm pretty sure the Great Lakes could supply all of NA with fish if that was to be a common goal.

People will be around, but not the polity. There's nothing to hold the people together. No sense of common identity...no shared community. Just a collection of tribes...some of which are mutually hostile. There will probably be successor entities none of which fill the entire space formerly occupied by the US. At least no powerful govt. with NSA type capabilities will be around.

No successor govt. will be strong enough to impose its will on a well armed populace. Collective action won't be possible without fighting a series of small open source wars.

There will be plenty of food as long as we are willing to eat our political opponents. If the Indians show up we'll eat them too.

I'm going to open up a gun range/bar and grill. I think there's a tremendous demand for the ability to knock down a cold one while your cartridges are flying. That's thirsty work that demands quenching with fine libations.

Lots a fine right wing fundamentalist Christian libertarians down south to make that a good business decision. Could have some of them fine folks who just shot up the NSA building. Good on them.

Correct. I'm surprised that a shooting in America has even got its own thread on here, as though it's an unusual event. A shooting in Britain would be highly newsworthy, but in America it's just a fact of everyday life.

No, in Briton they have to use the more sophisticated machete because they are not allowed to own the outdated firearm as a weapon of choice. Not very efficient though, when attacking a building.
