3 arrested in Halifax after alleged threats involving Mic Mac Mall

HALIFAX – Police arrested two men and a woman in Halifax on Tuesday afternoon after threats were allegedly made involving Mic Mac Mall earlier in the day.

The Dartmouth mall was closed Tuesday morning after police showed up to investigate a possible threat they had received information about at 9 a.m. Police said the alleged threats were not made directly against the mall.

After police informed mall officials, shoppers were asked to leave and the mall was closed for the rest of the day. Police went to a home on Everette Street in Dartmouth early in the afternoon, but left a few hours later after they found it was empty.

Just before 4 p.m., Halifax Regional Police took two men and a woman into custody at an apartment building in the 200-block of Willett Street in connection with the investigation.

Police said a search warrant will be executed at that location.

The investigation is ongoing, and police said officers are remaining on scene at the mall as a precaution.

Crichton Park School and South Woodside School, which were both placed in a hold-and-secure Tuesday afternoon, resumed normal operations around 2 p.m.
