LAPD Pursuing Driver in San Fernando Valley

Los Angeles police were in pursuit of the driver of a white pickup truck on surface streets and freeways in the San Fernando Valley on Wednesday.

The pursuit was taking place about 11:45 a.m. in Panorama City, when the truck got onto the southbound 5 Freeway.

The truck exited at Lankershim Boulevard and was leading a patrol car through surface streets in a neighborhood. The vehicle then returned to the northbound 5 Freeway and exited again at Terra Bella Street in Arleta.

The driver then stopped in the middle of the street after appearing to hit a spike strip, and at least eight patrol vehicles stopped behind him.

The pursuit began about 11:35 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department Officer Drake Madison said.

Madison did not know what the driver was wanted for.
