RCMP officers shot in St. Albert, Alberta - Edmonton - CBC News
Two RCMP officers were shot early this morning outside of Edmonton, according to Alberta RCMP.

Police confirm officers are at the scene of an ongoing operation southeast of the Sturgeon Valley Golf Course in St. Albert, northeast of Edmonton.

RCMP say the two uniformed officers were shot during an interaction with a civilian. Both officers are being treated in hospital for significant injuries, but RCMP Insp. Gibson Glavin had no word on their condition.

Police are looking for a suspect, described as a white man between 25 and 35 years old, last seen wearing a two-toned blue jacket and jeans.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and police are warning members of the public not to approach.

"Insp. Gibson Glavin confirmed the officers were shot between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. in the city of St. Albert during an interaction with a civilian in southeast Edmonton." They need to get their directions straight. St Albert is North of Edmonchuck not Southeast.

This sh*t is reaching epidemic proportions, not JUST cops but people in general and it's not likely to change until they can get a handle on the drug scene. Of course the bleeding hearts wouldn't stand for appropriate sentences for the importers and traffickers, which could include annihilating the bastards!

The report I read mentioned Southeast St. Albert, no juxtaposition to Edmonton.

I just read the 49 year old victim has been released from hospital- given it was only a few hours ago he was reported to be in Serious but stable condition...............something's not right! After a serious ordeal like that surely he'd be kept a day for observation just to covers the medics' a$$es.

Do what they have to to get home in time for supper. Just no killing dogs and horses (and higher) before they shoot first.

Probably save the taxpayers $1/2 million or more for trial and several more millions to feed, clothe and medicate the bastard!

One of the biggest problems in our society today is the attitude change
Years ago people respected the uniform and they were confident in the
ability of the force. Even the bad guys had a grudging respect for the
Mounties. Now with the changes over the past two decades that is no
longer the case. We have a force recognized by society and all the
other protocols and people don't have the same respect. We see the
cops involved in all kinds of activities not becoming of officers and they
are not punished sufficiently for their crimes. I don't have to list them
either. Stealing from evidence lockers, involved in sex indiscretions,
people tasered and things like they beat the hell of out of an old man
waiting for his wife. Said he couldn't park there while she delivered papers
turns out he had a permit the list goes on. Thinking about I respect many
of the officers but as a force I don't even have the same respect for them
Its not about fearing the cops its about respect the police need to clean
up their image as much as the public has to understand they are our first
line of defence but they should not get a blank check either

I don't think of these guys as "cops" so much as thugs joining the force for a cover for their nefarious activities!
