A local gym has come under fire after posting a sign outside their fitness centre saying: “When aliens come, they’re going to eat the fatties first!”
The sign stands outside Equilibrium Training in Kitchener at 4293 King St E. It has been there since mid-November.
Julie Slimmon drives by the gym every day. She tells 570 News it’s fat shaming, and it needs to be taken down.
“They’re not trying to cater to people getting healthier, they only want athletes to come in…but even still it sends the wrong message. I would think that people that are into fitness are usually about trying to encourage others to become fit.”
