A Pennsylvania mother and her boyfriend have been charged in the beating death of the woman's three-year-old son that was so horrific, prosecutors said nurses cried when they saw his body.
Scott McMillan, 3, was allegedly hanged upside down, whipped with a curtain rod, taped to a chair and had his head smashed into a wall over the course of three days before he died from his injuries Tuesday, Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan told a press conference Thursday.
The boy's mother, Jillian Tait, and her boyfriend Gary Fellenbaum, have been charged with murder. Fellenbaum's wife, Amber, who lived in the trailer with them and called police after McMillan became unresponsive, has been charged with child endangerment.
"He had bruises on top of bruises," Hogan said. "Our ER nurses see a lot of terrible things, but when they saw his body, they wept."
Hogan said he plans to seek the death penalty in this case.
