BROCKVILLE, Ont. - A woman and her young daughter are dead in what police are calling a murder-suicide in the city's north end.Police in this city south of Ottawa were called to an apartment Thursday afternoon to check on the well-being of the occupants.
Officers entered the apartment and found the mother and daughter dead, police said.
Chief Scott Fraser described the daughter as pre-adolescent. Next of kin have been contacted but police said they won't release the names of the deceased because of "the sensitive nature of the issue."
"It's a homicide and a suicide, unfortunately," Fraser said.
Post-mortems are scheduled for Friday in Ottawa.
