A British man who killed a friend after an argument escalated about the buddy "poking" his girlfriend on Facebook has been sentenced for four years in prison.
Scott Humphrey, 26, got in an argument with Richard Rovetto, 29, around 2 a.m. on July 27 after the two were at a bachelor party, Nottinghamshire Police said on its Facebook page.
Humphrey hit Rovetto and the father of one fell to the floor, sustaining a serious head injury. He later died in hospital.
Humphrey pleaded guilty to manslaughter on Aug. 18, and was sentenced Friday to four years and four months in prison.
The U.K. Mirror reported the argument was about how Rovetto had given Humphrey's girlfriend a virtual poke on Facebook.
"If you're such a good friend, why did you poke my missus?" Humphrey asked. Rovetto said he didn't realize the two were dating, but the argument escalated.

Only 4 years? The judge could relate to the uncontrollable anger caused by a facebook poke. The judge is likely a serial facebook poke killer. The truth will come out some day.
