We've seen several of these in the last few years.. when drilling or mining sites.. all but abandoned wilderness suddenly become 'sacred' burial or ceremonial sites. And they seem to disappear when the resource company open their wallets and placate the spirits of their forfathers.. or land grants are given so they can open sacred casinos.

On the other hand the Indians were justified in fighting the invaders with all of their might. That principle applies to those who oppose illegal immigration today.

Only if you can define the difference between legal and illegal immigration. Who gave immigration visas to the settlers in 1700 when my first European ancestors came here?

Some like the Cree helped whitie shape Canada into Canada and spread themselves from one end of Canada to the others. If anything the Cree have more say than other tribes.

Territorial displacement is not, in the final analysis, a matter of ethics, morality, or law. Rather, this is a matter of historical processes and historical forces which I refer to as Historical Necessity.

Historical Necessity gave figurative visas to your European ancestors when they arrived to settle the new lands which would become Canada. Historical Necessity took the form of a wide open frontier that demanded settlement by a vigorous people in order to achieve its destiny. The First Peoples of Canada would no doubt disagree, but they were weak. Human nature and political culture do not favor the weak. The First Peoples were entitled to use all means at their disposal to resist Historical Necessity. But their efforts would have been to no avail. Historical Necessity can be observed today in California.
