We've seen several of these in the last few years.. when drilling or mining sites.. all but abandoned wilderness suddenly become 'sacred' burial or ceremonial sites. And they seem to disappear when the resource company open their wallets and placate the spirits of their forfathers.. or land grants are given so they can open sacred casinos.
WAiting for the welfare check first. And the new 4x4 from the band. Wouldn't want to break dow on the way to a protest. Also got to work around bug season.
My concern is that this activity is going to reduce investor confidence. Much of the plans to develop Northern BC hinge on investor confidence. If all the exploration and development comes to a halt its going to get messy.
Give them free dope and firewater. After a while they give up on the warpath. Reminds me of the Irish.

The First Peoples of Canada would no doubt disagree, but they were weak. Human nature and political culture do not favor the weak. The First Peoples were entitled to use all means at their disposal to resist Historical Necessity. But their efforts would have been to no avail. Historical Necessity can be observed today in California.
