A Florida woman accused of stabbing one of her grandsons to death told police she was "fed up," the Tallahassee Democrat reports (external - login to view).
Mason Rhinehart, 7, and his 8-year-old brother, who wasn't identified, were playing video games at their grandmother's house in Tallahassee Tuesday morning.
Police allege she told the boys she had a surprise for them, then led Mason to the bathroom where she closed the door and stabbed him, the newspaper reported.
The brother reportedly told police he could hear Mason crying and saying, "I don't want to die, please don't kill me."
The brother called police then ran and hid. Their grandmother left the house, police said.
Paramedics found Mason with multiple stab wounds to the chest. He was rushed to hospital but died.
Police said the exact motive is unknown, but the grandmother told them she was "fed up."
Martha White, 63, was charged with first-degree murder Thursday morning.
