Same old crap, different day.

Both sides will find or make any excuse they can to continue their own brand of terrorism.

I'm in no way defending the kidnapping of children, if indeed that is what really happened, but all of this is still a part of the larger situation of "He started it.... He hit me first." "No, he started it.... He hit me first so I hit him back. He also called me a poopy head."

They're both just going to keep hitting each other back and forth forever like little kids in the playground trying to show off to the rest of the world that they're tough and won't back down. Whether it's kidnapping three teenagers, dropping cluster bombs or white phosphorus into civilian populated areas or shooting rockets randomly towards other civilian populated areas, it's all equally disturbing and shameful.

The most unfortunate thing about it all is that it's getting to the point of "who gives a sh*t what they do to each other anymore?"

They don't care to stop it and they both love killing each other over any excuse they can find.

I say wall the entire place in and isolate both of them from the rest of the world, let them destroy each other and whoever survives at the end gets to keep the whole place & call the remaining desolate crater home.

Seriously, how long has this conflict been going on now?

Over half a century now.

If they truly wanted to stop all this and come to some sort of end solution to finally live in peace, they would have done it long ago.

The fact of the matter is that they've been killing each other for so long and for so many generations, they know nothing else but killing and hating each other.

So let the circus side show carry on while the rest of the world points and mocks with each other about the freak show while pretending to actually give a crap.

What really needs to happen is for the international community to step back and let these 2 duke it out.... Won't end things for good, but maybe they can squeeze in 30-40 years of reduced hostilities

Who or what is the international community?

The religious roots of this conflict should give us all pause.

Christian intolerance of Jewry in Europe helped spawn Zionism; then, the holocaust during WW2 forced many Jews to reconsider their place in majority-Christian nations.

The modern Exodus, the violent establisment of Israel, and the displacement of both Muslim and Christian Palestinians, who ethnically are the same as the Jews of two millenia ago, didn't endear the new Israelis to the locals.

Now religious hatred on both sides, the further displacement of Palestinians through settlements, and the wall fan the violence.

The uneven treatment by the West particularly the US is seen as hypocritical, and is destabilising throughout the Middle East.

What to do? Not much now, but try to be a lot more even handed in dealing with both sides.

Church/synagogue/mosque anyone?

It's the tarted up criminal cabal that's ruined the aspirations of the free world since before Babylon. Merchant Bankers ,slave traders, drug runners, financial con men, pornographers and murderers par excellence. We can't even have a shot of whiskey without them getting their cut.

Throw into the mix Evangelical Christians who believe in and try to promote Armageddon and the Great Simplification, and you have crazies poking everyone in the nuts.

Based upon population where do the majority of Crazies reside- Israel or Palestine?

It is not hard, really.

The fight is between two sides: one a western democracy, tolerant of all religions, and sexual preferences, where all citizens vote, live under rule of law, and can even bear arms on the same basis.............a place that does not even have capital punishment.

The other side are the followers of a medieval death cult. Absolutely intolerant of other religions, bound to offer them submission or death, or (if People of the Book) to live under the rule of Islam, paying the non-believers' tax...........

Seems pretty straight forward to me.

And, by gum, you'll fight the death-cultists to the last drop of somebody else's blood!

A western democracy in the ME occupying stolen land and running a genocidal purge of the rightful inhabitants? It hates every other religion and encourages any and all perversions it's citizens are programed hommicidel maniacs who hold nuclear weapons over the heads of the planets human population and as for capital punishment it murders without trial every day, there's your medieval death cult. It seems pretty straight forward to you because you are a backward individual.

There is no democracy in the west, that has been consumed by bankers and their lobbyists in total decades ago. Democracy lies in despotic ruin thanks to the criminal state of Israel.

I'm curious if anyone even bothered to read the "article". I know Walter didn't. This is from half way through the article:

The military said aircraft attacked 34 targets in Gaza, mostly belonging to Hamas, but did not link the strikes to the abductions. The military cited 18 Palestinian rockets launched against Israel from Gaza in the past two days.

But what the hell eh.... let's use the death of 3 kids to fan the fires.

Yep, that's Western democracy all right.

So you agree Israel is genocidal??

Oh believe me, there were dual reasons for the attacks...........you REALLY think Israel is not retaliating for the murders??
