Hamilton police are searching for a man who allegedly walked off with $11,000 from a charity banquet Saturday night.

Police allege the suspect swiped a cash box containing admission fees and donations to the Ride to Conquer Cancer event at the Sheraton Hotel, located at 116 King St. W. in Hamilton.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, approximately 40- to 45-years-old with short blonde and grey hair. He was wearing an orange polo shirt over a white t-shirt, dark jeans, brown running shoes, sunglasses, and had a cell phone on his hip.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hamilton police at 905-546-3818 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Wow. They put 11 grand in a box and left it unguarded. Nuff said.
Fund raiser was for cancer so maybe this guy will put the money to better use like stimulating the economy instead of having 11% going to research and the remainder going to funding the ride for [enter your cancer here].

someone feels like they want to hang themselves for this...can you imagine being the one who let the box out of their sight...I can't.

as for the thief, yeah it's bad and he is pulling a world of hurt towards himself...

I just can't imagine now securing that type of money...
