You can also ask Germany, Austria, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. The answer is collective bargaining, comrade.
Yup. They may not have an official minimum wage, but they have strong labor contracts that set effective minimum wages sector by sector, which creates effective minimum wages much higher than you see in Canada or the US.
Ever notice they all have us spouting we're all in this together?
We have to be aware not to be greedy and made too many demands?
What about the huge profit margins and bonuses some are getting
while professing everyone else is greedy
The big guys have no problem with multimillion dollar payments every
year they have no problem getting more than their share yet everyone
else should sacrifice. We need to open a discussion about labor,
everything from wages to working conditions and establish some kind
of order in the system
