KANO, May 18 (Reuters) - A suicide car bomber killed five people on a street of popular bars and restaurants in the northern Nigerian city of Kano on Sunday evening, in an area mostly inhabited by southern Christians, police said.

Kano police spokesman Musa Majiya said the bomber struck Gold Coast Street in the Sabon Gari or "foreign quarter" of the North's biggest city.

Terrorists in Iraq must be laughing.... They blow up 30-80 people every second day and barely register in news outlets because it happens so often.

Actually the number has gone up. I saw a video posted somewhere (MSN homepage, I think) that said 118 people have been killed by the car bombs in Nigeria now.
