Sun News Network is expanding its reach across Canada after securing a couple of major deals.

The all-Canadian channel has secured a long-term spot on Bell TV's basic satellite television and Fibe packages, and will soon be available for the first time ever to more than 150-thousand East Coast and Northern Ontario customers of Bell Aliant.

"This is a great way to celebrate the third anniversary of Sun News, and we thank our distribution partners at Bell TV and Bell Aliant," said Sun News Vice President Kory Teneycke in a statement Wednesday.

The agreements follow a CRTC ruling in December that told cable and satellite TV providers to treat all Canadian news channels equally.

Since its inception in April 2011, Sun News Network has argued that providers should distribute the network comparably to other speciality news channels, including CTV News Channel and CBC News Network.

Viewers can find Sun News Network on Bell Satellite TV on channel 506, on Bell Aliant channel 232 and on Bell Fibe channel 531 (or 1531 for HD).

Sun News Network is also available on Rogers, Cogeco, Shaw, Videotron, MTS, Sasktel, Eastlink, and others.

Lol, this "right wing" news channel sure loves to use government intervention to force private companies and private citizens to give them money against their will.

Or as they call it "freedom".
