Can you believe it, these easterners seem to think the rest of the country owes them a living!!

These losers can't compete to make cars that the Canadian public will like so they want the Feds to put protections in place so they don't lose their jobs!!

Suck it up you losers!!!

Canada-South Korea trade deal worries Ontario auto industry - Politics - CBC News

Ontario is worried Korean-made automobiles will flood the country, putting thousands of jobs in Canada's auto sector at risk, under the terms of a yet-to-be-announced trade deal between Canada and South Korea.

A source familiar with the negotiations told CBC News that Ontario is "very concerned" about the length of the phase-out period for the 6.1 per cent tariff, to be announced on Tuesday.

The province would like to see the longest phase-out possible, but is disappointed that the federal government has not managed to negotiate the seven- or even five-year phase-out period that the EU and U.S. were able to obtain.

Ontario is also disappointed that the federal government has not been able to negotiate a "snap-back" provision, as the U.S. did, which would allow Canada to reimpose tariffs if Korea puts up non-tariff barriers such as strict requirements on engine size, which are prejudicial to North American vehicles.

Etc

That should be included. We have seen how the Chinese use this to prevent imports to protect their industry. But want free trade, oh yes, on their terms.

Yup, this sounds pretty stupid.

It is obviously easier to compete if our government ensures that we are at least on a level playing field with our competition.

Yep- But not Durry- he hates Easterners.
Harper is looking for success.
Another issue is that farmers- agricultural to beef/ pork will have access to larger markets.

How would this affect the farmers who benefit from supply management though?

Exports up the hoop. Have you noted that grain farmers in the west are losing a bundle as the rail companies cannot ship their product. Yet other products move efficiently.
The US just brought in Country of Origin. This affects beef/pork producers due to the complexity of the rules of origin and labeling. This comes from their beef-pork producers.

Well I guess easterners have still got twenty or thirty years before we break even on equalization pay-back and no one ever heard us call you westerners losers while we were carrying your azzes and paying taxes to provide farm subsidies so you could compete with other markets.

CP will be kicking their own arses again after having abandoned the Montreal mainline between Mattawa and Smiths Falls. If it doesn't move through the States, traffic has to negotiate the Toronto bottleneck. I'm hearing fines of $100,000 per day

I'm sick to death of gloating westerners, they're still just colonies of the east, uppity rustics with a bit of fast oil money what they waste on loose women and booze. We'll see how fast Uncle Sham vacuums them dry. They'll shrivel up like the limp organs they really are soon enough.

A tad to late if they decide to kick, since the tracks have been removed, and the sale of the right of way is under negotiation for some kind of a "trail".

That was one of Ontario's most scenic lines to ride; from Carleton Place to above Mattawa. Very beautiful along the Ottawa River.

Talks about "completing". Durry sounds almost as intelligent as CP/CN brass.

About negative 6 billion. 73 billion if you take into account our share of the federal debt, which we would pay off in no time if people quit moving here for a year or two. Trying to keep up with infrastructure is a real bitch.

Yeah ? If people stopped moving there from the east, who would do the work, not albertains. If it weren't for the evil easterners you'd still be living in sod houses.
