Ottawa police are searching for a man who tried to rob a downtown Ottawa store with a hockey stick on Monday evening.
The man was dressed in black and wore a balaclava when he entered the Kent Street store near Laurier Avenue brandishing a hockey stick and demanding cash just after 6:30 p.m., police said.
The store owner foiled the robbery when he grabbed the hockey stick out of the suspect's hands, police said.
No one was injured.
The suspect is described as a white man, about five-foot-ten and slim.
