Parents arrested after their toddler was found wandering the streets in wet pajamas, no shoes, and holding a cup of beer with a bug in it. Jesus Christ, what the hell kind of people give their kids a beer contaminated with a BUG?

HAMILTON —
The parents of a 23-month-old girl found wandering alone and wet have turned themselves in to authorities.

Hamilton Police said Nicholas and Elizabeth Latta arrived at the station around 1:50 a.m. today. Both are charged with five counts of child endangering.

On Nov. 19, a person found the girl walking in the alley in the 900 block of Dayton Street. She was wearing wet pajamas, did not have shoes and was visibly cold, according to the police report.

The man who found the toddler told the Journal-News she was holding a cup of beer, and it had a bug in it.

No adult was in the area, the report said.

The girl was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment. Officers went to the girl’s home at 913 Dayton St. and found four other children living there. The home had no electricity, no running water and inadequate food supply.

Police said they also found a 5-gallon bucket of feces in the bathroom, alongside a full toilet.

Animal feces was throughout the residence. Police said the home is unfit for habitation and the children were removed.
