Keep in mind though, there are no terrorists, no al Qaeda, no islamic extremists...it's all just bad luck, coincidence and red flagged herrings. ;-)

Washington (CNN) – As terrorism increasingly becomes a tactic of warfare, the number of attacks and fatalities soared to a record high in 2012, according to a new report obtained exclusively by CNN.

More than 8,500 terrorist attacks killed nearly 15,500 people last year as violence tore through Africa, Asia and the Middle East, according to the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism.

That’s a 69% rise in attacks and an 89% jump in fatalities from 2011, said START, one of the world’s leading terrorism-trackers.
Six of the seven most deadly groups are affiliated with al Qaeda, according to START, and most of the violence was committed in Muslim-majority countries.

The previous record for attacks was set in 2011 with more than 5,000 incidents; for fatalities the previous high was 2007 with more than 12,800 deaths.

World wide I would have thought the death toll was a lot higher. 15,000 out of over 6 billion? Thats a very small number by comparison. By the definition listed in the article both sides use that 'tactic.'

According to the Obama Administration Republicans are terrorists:

"White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer on Thursday compared Republicans to terrorists and arsonists because of their tactics surrounding the debt ceiling and attempt to defund ObamaCare.
Speaking on CNN’s "The Lead," Pfeiffer was asked why President Obama wouldn’t negotiate with Republicans by accepting some spending cuts in exchange for raising the debt limit.
“We are for cutting spending,” Pfeiffer said. “What we’re not for is negotiating with people with a bomb strapped to their chest. We’re not going to do that.'”

What is the innuendo? That Republicans are like Al Qaeda. What does Obama do to Al Qaeda members? He kills them. It's not possible to do business with such people.

Not unless they happened to be hitting civilians. That may have happened, Im not too sure.

The targetting of non-combatants has to be deliberate. The trcik is, if you want to blow up a hospital or an embassy, then you issue a notice of regret afterwards and then it's not terrorism.

Yes and no. War is politics by other means as Clausewitz said. Clausewitz was focused on coming to grips with enemy forces and destroying them. But Clausewitz didn't contemplate attacks on civilians. The Kamikaze did not attack civilians.

But not everyone agrees. In 1982 I met Curtis Lemay. He was a classic terrorist. He invented the idea of firebombing Japanese cities with a form of napalm as part of the concept of strategic bombing. On the night of March 9, 1945 he killed 100,000 Japanese civilians. If you're interested try and find a copy of A Torch To The Enemy:

We all are and were under Bush too.

The Parrot Act has got to go!

I agree with that.
