Breast cancer awareness as a symbol of rebellion.

As we often see Zero tolerance does not and never will work. In cases like this, way to many variables to be a realistic policy. It is beyond stupid and makes you wonder how many were PC robots who shut down those that disagreed, with reasonable scenarios, like this one in the article.
Zero Tolerance is up there with "Never again".

Schools and school boards seem to be getting more and more 'superficial' with their rules. It's not they necessarily that they need to make exceptions to a rule, taking a stand and sticking to it can be a good model for kids. But the rules need to make sense. Kids are not stupid, if you give them a sensible rule you can get their co-operation. They may not always like it, but for the most part they will comply.

Hey, this is not a joke! If we don't crack down on these kids, before you know it they might be eating healthy, volunteering for community projects, and being polite to their elders!

These are the early signs. You have to nip these rebellions in the bud!
