100 Mile House HQ Cariboo - First News, Events, Local Community information Things took a turn for the strange Friday afternoon when a theft took place in 100 Mile House.
Hundred Mile Ranch owner Greg Messner says he observed a truck leaving his property with his stuff, so what did he do?
Messner began to chase the truck down Highway 24, Highway 5 and to the city limits of Kamloops, in his Cessna 172 airplane. While Messner had to turn back at Kamloops due to airspace restrictions, it’s the RCMP he’s frustrated with and not just the fact his stuff is gone.
Keep in mind this all happened between 1pm and 3pm, again, this past Friday.
He says in all the time RCMP had after Messner provided them with a vehicle description and license plate number, they should have been able to get officers on the ground from either 100 Mile or Kamloops detachments to attempt tracking this vehicle.
Messner says an officer told him calls had to be made to all of Prince George, Kelowna, and Kamloops before officers could be dispatched. He says the system needs to be streamlined desperately.
Regardless, his belongings are still missing and Hundred Mile RCMP say the investigation is continuing.
