TORONTO — Eight people have been found captive in a home in Houston, Texas, with some living in what police describe as a “prison room” and one man possibly kept against his will for a decade.
Police say four men, ages 54, 65, 74, and 79, were found locked in a garage Friday morning. The others are women police described as suffering from mental illness who were living in the house with a suspect.
Police Sgt. Steven Murdock said a neighbour called police Friday morning saying several men were being held against their will.

Police visited the north Houston home at 8646 White Castle at 8:30 am to find the front door nailed shut.
Inside police found what they described as a “prison room”, with no beds or chairs.
The four men told the officers they were held for varying lengths of time. One victim said he had been there for about ten years.
Three of the men were physically unable to walk and were transported to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, ABC News reported. A fourth man was also found in the garage, but stayed outside the home.
Police said the conditions were “deplorable” and one victim said the men did not want to be there, describing the house as “a dungeon”.
Officers said the men may have been homeless, lured there with the promise of beer and cigarettes and held for their Social Security and Veteran’s Administration cheques. At least one of the men is a military veteran.
State adult welfare officials were called to the scene.
One person is being held for questioning. No charges have been laid.

Over money.

I don't know why it feels more understandable when they're being held because the person is a twisted freak. But just a greedy freak. That's unfathomable.
