Surfer survives being whacked by a 40 foot Right Whale

A LUCKY surfer had a close brush with death when a whale “as big as a bus” knocked him unconscious – just 100FOOT from the shore.

The 40ft-long southern right whale flicked its tail and hit Bishan Rajapakse, a 38-year-old doctor, off his surfboard.



He lost consciousness for about ten seconds whilst some brave swimmers and surfers helped him back to safety on Bondi Beach, Australia.

Whales really aren't all that smart-twice we've had Humpback surface right in from of our powerboat off WCVI-while we were going at least 40 kph.

A collision would have grievously injured the Whale and probably killed us as well.
