Interns working in the PMO were enlisted to heckle Justin Trudeau during a news conference outside Parliament. Harper doesn't want to be open with the press in Canada and apparently it's not alright with him for opposition leaders to hold legitimate press conferences either.

Trudeau Protest Was Manned By Tory Interns And Organized By PMO

OTTAWA — The Prime Minister’s Office orchestrated a protest earlier this month at which Conservative party interns mocked Liberal leader Justin Trudeau during an open-air news conference.

It is the latest revelation about the lengths to which Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s office — the nerve centre of the federal government — will go to meddle in partisan politics. Staff in the PMO, who help the party plot election strategy and who designed the first round of attack ads against Trudeau, have also been behind recent negative stories about his speaking fees.

Tell me again how the robocalls campaign wasn't run out of the PMO, everything we're seeing lately indicates a concerted and covert program to subvert the political process in Canada from within the PMO.

Just like the agent provocateurs planted in OWS.

Right wingers always use devious tactics and get caught in their lies such as the Ft Collins arsonist who pretend to be OWS but is a Republican.

I would wager that it did - although, unless the PMO issues a press release indicating that they organized the event - it is speculation.

I suppose that the bottom-line here is that is anyone other than CK surprised that this kind of thing happens at all with any of the parties?

If they are interns for the conservatives it would make sense that they wouldnt be fans of Trudeau. They could have gone there on their own. Its not like it was far away.

Except that our so called right wing party is somewhat to the left of your left wing party. Making them what? Right wing lite

Could just be that they were from say west of the atlantic ocean and have their own reasons not to like Just-In.

But they didn't go of their own accord.

HuffPost has learned the PMO assembled several Conservative party interns and staff to draw up signs mocking Trudeau after being tipped off by Twitter that the Liberal leader planned to announce new measures to increase transparency in the House of Commons outside Parliament near the Centennial Flame. Holding signs quoting Tory attack ads, the young Conservatives stood behind Trudeau’s podium during his televised speech.

Once again it's the use of government resources on partisan attacks.

Fake Trudeau protest exposes Tory approach to youth in politics

It’s a sad day for Conservatives when the only whiff of youthful engagement to reach the media in recent months proves to be a hardy group of paid interns sent by the Prime Minister’s Office.

Speaking at an outdoor press conference held at the Centennial Flame on Parliament Hill this month, Justin Trudeau outlined his party’s plan for accountability and transparency in federal politics. Sandwiched tightly behind him were a dozen or so protesters, some of whom waved placards quoting recent Tory attack ads targeting the new Liberal leader. Most have now been identified as paid Conservative party interns and staff, reportedly organized by the PMO. One might begin by questioning the use of taxpayers’ dollars for such purposes, or wonder about the legitimacy of the PMO’s role in staging this event. But there is something else at stake here, too.

So at a press conference being held to outline Justin Trudeau's plans for greater accountability and transparency in government the Prime Ministers response was to draft some interns from his office to pose as protesters to shout down the new Liberal leader. It says volumes about Harper's respect for the Parliamentary institution he's supposed to be the steward of.

First off he seems to see public resources as being his own property and he also seems to not be willing to allow the opposition to carry out its necessary role of offering a positive alternative to the sitting government.

That's politics for ya. Best have thick skin to participate.

The nice thing about democracies is we get to say what politics are by rewarding or punishing certain behaviours, like abusing the powers of office.

It will be up to the electorate to comment on this kind of thing.

Nobody will remember some intern plants.

There are conservatives here with encyclopedic knowledge of the Liberal scandals of the last 40 years, people will remember what went on with the conservative government in 2013 in 2015. And I'm sure Justin Trudeau will remind voters of the attack campaign against him run out of the PMO when it comes time to select the new government.
