Must have been a long day for the pore call centre employee.
Looks like he really wanted me to agree to having someone over from Sunlife at my house.

After telling him a few times that I was not interested, He persisted again, with a long winded scripted
Message, about there being no obligations etc... All they are asking is for 15 minutes of my time.

Witch I replied, sorry I'm not interested in sharing any of my time.

He then told me to fuuck off and hung up Lol!!!!!!

Should I do anything?

That's just some idiot telemarketer hired by some company that Sunlife has a contract with. Waste of time going through all those channels to find a guilty culprit. If you really want to pursue it though, chat with someone at SUnlife and tell them that whoever they contract to do telemarketing for them needs better employees.

You know you were free to hang up on the poor guy. Staying on the phone was for your own pleasure obviously. I think the guy did the right thing.

I don't know why.... But its hard for me to do that for some weird reason.
I guess I'll have to get used to it. Don't want all these Asian Call centre people hating me for the rest of my life.

Most of them prefer you just to hang up. Dragging out a conversation with them that ends up with you not buying whatever they're selling just makes them think they're wasting their time. Pisses them off. Either that or tell them you are not interested and to take your number off their call list.

I know. but its just not my natural reaction to hang up on someone. I need to get it in my head thats its what they actually want me to do lol.

Ask what company they are calling for - Tell them you are on the Do Not Call List. Why are they calling- you are reporting them to the CRTC - after a tad the calls drop-

Then look at it this way: it saves you wasting your time, as well as theirs. Either that or don't think of them as people; think of them as mosquitos or something. Ditch em as fast as possible.

I sometimes use an air horn on telemarketers. I don't consider that rude at all.

What you do depends on the mood you happen to be in. If, as I've read above,
you have an issue ending a conversation with a telemarketer, then engage them
in the conversation with questions (interupting their script) & have some fun with
it. For example:

"So...where on the planet are you calling from?"

"So...what do you people eat over in __________?"

"What time is it there? & What are you wearing?"

"Sorry, but can you repeat that in a sexy voice?"

"No...A sexier voice. Make me really want that carpet cleaning Baby!!!"

"Sure you can come over!! My Old English Mastiff is pretty amorous
though...so you might want to wear a rain suit or something...and
you can use my shower when it's done!!!"

After a couple of telemarketers, when you perfect your technique, you
might even start to look forward to the unsolicited advertising....

We used to do that to city kids that came out to the bush. Usually have some one at the switch so we could show them how it is done. Then turn the power back on. Even had a couple of girls try it.

My line is "No you can't speak to me. Please take me off your list."
One guy from India went nuts one night and said he would not take me off his list and he would phone me every night until I bought what he was selling. I told him he was an Ahole and hung up. Tuning forks against the mouth piece is also effective.

Lol xDDDD

Put them on hold. And leave the phone. Telemarketing companies keep lists of problems like those that give them a hard time when they call. They exchange this info.
