If you are on the coast the wave is a serious matter I just hope we have no one hurt
or worse.

Depth was 10km so surface shift may be minimal.

I still have a house in the cowichan valley not far above sea level. Hope there is no reflection of any waves back up cowichan bay.

Was there a tsunami? I eagerly waitinng to hear of injuries so I can start getting excited to see what went down.

I gotta give a hats off to NRCan, QCIs were pegged as the next one some 25 years ago. I'm anxious to see if the end result is the islands being raised by 6m and moved northward by 10m came to fruition as we figured back then as well.

Youd think that we would have heard of a tsunami by now...... Hopefully no one gets hurt or else there might be some scientists standing before a judge just kidding horrible attempt at a bad joke

The tsunami warning only went as far south as the northern tip of Vancouver Island, according to the news source I read.

Just read 2 waves recorded at less than 50cm each. Sounds like all might be ok on that front but the warning has stretched from Alaska to California.

Thanks for the map, Petros.

Who the hell instigated the change from "Queen Charlottes" to that impossible to pronounce jumble of letters?

Just read the latest from CBC and it looks like none to not much damage on the Charlottes.
